Machining center suitable for low-volume, high-mix parts

Methods Machine Tools Inc. has introduced the new Yasda H40i 5-axis, high-precision machining center. According to the manufacturer, the machine meets the demands for tight tolerances and short cycle times required by manufacturers in segments such as aerospace, die/mold, and automotive.

A highly rigid structure includes roller-type guideways with a retainer on the XYZ axes for high-speed operations and high acceleration and a Z-axis ball screw positioned at the center of the guideways, enabling fast feed without geometric error, says the company. Three-point mounting maintains static accuracy.

The machine is suitable for manufacturing low-volume, high-mix complex parts. The user can adjust the work envelope to accommodate varying work size.
