Milling disc offers high removal rate, long life

In.Motion Technology Distribution LLC has announced the launch of a milling disc designed for beveling, weld preparation, and weld repair. According to the company, the discs offer a significantly higher material removal rate than conventional abrasive, eliminating the fine dust associated with grinding.

Each disc provides a minimum of 300 to 500 hours of service before sharpening is required, and each disc can be sharpened up to seven times. The discs are used with standard angle grinders, electric or pneumatic (minimum 1,300 W, 10,500 RPM), with a 5/8-11 shaft.

Available in 3, 4.5, and 5 in. dia., the discs are designed for use on nonferrous materials, such as aluminum, titanium, copper, and brass. The single-sided milling ring is suitable for the beveling and leveling of welds, general material removal, and root pass cleaning. The double-sided disc can be used to open butt and fillet welds and to remove existing welds.
