New horizontal machining center models introduced

Methods Machine Tools Inc. has introduced a newly expanded line of Kiwa horizontal machining centers.

The KMH-300 direct-drive, 30-taper, 15,000-RPM, 300-mm dual-pallet machine has a compact footprint of 140 in. deep by 107 in. wide including the chip conveyor. Travels are 18.1 in. on the X and Y axes and 13.7 in. on the Z axis.

The KMH-630B 50-taper, 10,000-RPM, 630-mm dual-pallet changer has a footprint of 235 in. deep by 137 in. wide including the chip conveyor. Travels are 39.7 in. on the X axis, 33.4 in. on the Y axis, and 37.4 in. on the Z axis.

Both machines offer an integrated, full-rotary B axis and a FANUC Oi-MD control with a 15-in. LCD screen. They allow simplified access for setup and maintenance. A spindle oil cooling system and coolant-through ball screws are standard.
