Subspindle multitasking turning center eliminates deburring, milling

Methods Machine Tools Inc. has introduced the Nakamura-Tome AS-200LMY-S subspindle multitasking turning center. It features an upgraded long bed with subspindle, a powerful milling drive, a high-speed C axis, and a 3.23-in.-stroke Y axis. Deburring, milling, drilling, and repositioning of fixtures are eliminated.

Subspindle speed is about 6,000 RPM, and the distance between spindle noses is 31.5 in. The machine offers a 7.5-HP milling motor on a 6,000-RPM, 12-station turret with ½ indexing, providing 24-tool capacity. Maximum turning diameter is 13.39 in., and maximum turning length is 22.44 in. The turning tool is 1.0 in., and the inside boring shank is 1.25 in.

The 15-in., high-resolution, color LCD panel works in conjunction with a FANUC 0iTD controller, offering fast processing speeds and a 1MB of program storage.
