Band saw handles large billets, bundles

Marvel Mfg. Co., Oshkosh, Wis., has added the PA700HD production band saw with a capacity of 28 in. by 32 in. to its Spartan line. The saw is suitable for large billets and bundles.

The twin post machine features a 2.5-in. blade and a 15-HP motor. The saw's vibration dampening system helps to reduce noise levels and extend blade life.

The machine's Zero Point Trim feature automatically senses the bar end, positions incoming workpieces, and eliminates the need for a trim cut. Additional standard features include a touch screen control, CNC controlled feed, automatically positioned guide arm, out-of-square detector, and power chip auger.
