Fine-height-adjustment lifting system allows continuous movement

Unidex Inc. has introduced its enhanced model ECL series electric column lift manipulator, a fine-height-adjustment lifting system with 270-degree articulating arms plus end effectors for handling close-tolerance work positioning. The manipulator has lever-action controls for three-speed vertical height adjustment, as well as variable upper and lower limits. The company offers a dual-arm capability option.

The manipulator has an electric chain/sprocket drive that lifts and lowers. It is designed to allow continuous movement throughout the work area. Horizontal movement is not restricted by vertical supports, cables, or vacuum hoses, allowing the arm to maintain the attitude of the load for reach-in or reach-under applications.

An Aut-O-Loc™ braking system protects the operator from downward movement if a chain or drive failure occurs. Tubular and bridge-style arms are provided in lengths of 72 in. and 92 in. from the carriage to the end of the arm pivot. Manually guided articulating arms are available with radial reaches up to 96 in. The lifting system has a standard 54-in. stroke lift and a load capacity of 250 lbs. 96 in. from the centerline.

Options include stainless steel construction for sanitary or corrosive environments and nickel plating for corrosion resistance, with other materials and finishes available; various lift strokes and load capacities; several articulating arm lengths and designs, including the dual-arm option; standard and customized end effectors; push-button or pendant controls; and overhead mounting systems.
