Marking system communicates directly with factory floor PLCs

Mecco®’s patent-pending EtherMark™ package allows marking systems to connect and communicate directly with factory floor PLCs. According to the manufacturer, the system significantly reduces custom programming and eliminates the need for fragile PCs on the shop floor.

The system enables marking equipment to be controlled by the PLC via EtherNet/IP™, requiring only one command for marking a job file, which reduces programming and integration to as little as eight minutes using the included Add-On Profile.

The system is ODVA-compliant, which means it will operate alongside existing devices without interfering with networkwide communication.
