Corrosion-resistant materials designed for laser sintering

April 2, 2014

EOS has introduced titanium Ti64ELI and stainless steel 316L for additive manufacturing, designed for processing on the manufacturer’s EOSINT M 280 metal laser sintering system.

The titanium light metal alloy is corrosion-resistant and biocompatible. Parts made of this material have a chemical composition and mechanical properties corresponding to ASTM F136. The corrosion-resistant, biocompatible stainless steel alloy shows good corrosion resistance and high ductility. Parts built from the material have a chemical composition that corresponds to ASTM F138.
