Wear-resistant steels available in heavier thicknesses

June 6, 2013

Ruukki now offers Raex wear-resistant special steel in thicknesses from 0.08 to 3.15 in. The thicker steels can be used to manufacture parts for heavy machinery and equipment designed for excavation, loading, transporting, and crushing ore in mines. The thinner grades are suitable for use in the transportation industry and other applications requiring a strong, wear-resistant steel.

Made using a direct quenching method developed by the company, the steels have a hard surface and strong microstructure.
