Orbital GTAW head designed for low-clearance applications
- July 13, 2004
- Product Release
- Tube and Pipe Fabrication
Orbimatic GmbH has introduced the M34 weld head to its range of orbital GTAW weld heads. Designed for applications with low radial clearance, such as tubes in boilers and rotary dryers, the heads can be used for applications that require an additional wire feed as well as fusion-only welds.
Suitable for tubes with ODs from 12 mm to 46 mm, the water-cooled weld head can be used with currents of up to 200 amps.
The heads have an onboard wire feed unit and arc gap control mechanism that takes into account any ovality in the tube profile. The torch angle and wire entry angle can be adjusted to suit the weld preparation and joint profile.
The heads can be used with all of the company's orbital welding power supplies.
