Eight axes give robotic thermal cutting machine added flexibility

Voortman has updated its V808 robotic thermal cutting machine. It now is equipped with a new coping robot with six axes, and the company’s design adds two more overhead axes. This flexibility allows the system to cut every structural shape possible and process all four sides of material in a single pass.

The system also offers advanced integration with high-definition plasma cutting. For oxyfuel cutting, the company added proportional valves for automatic setting of pressures to eliminate manual intervention.

The new roller feed measuring system does not require a pusher or gripper to return home before loading the next piece. The upgraded positioning weight adds flexibility and power to the new measuring and clamping system, states the manufacturer.
