Plasma machine offers 3-D plate cutting

Voortman has updated the V304 plate cutting machine for processing multiple types of material, such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. It can be equipped with up to two plasma (bevel) torches and up to six oxyfuel torches to allow for 3-D plasma bevel cutting, strip cutting, and weld preparation.

The machine is designed with gas valves as near as possible to the end process to help improve gas control and extend consumable lifetime. 3-D collision protection prevents damage to the torch when a collision occurs. It uses a magnet holder so that the torch can be mounted back in the holder to minimize machine downtime after a collision.

A dross inhibitor feature sprays oil at the piercing area just before piercing, which allows the slag to bounce off the oil layer so it will not attach to the plate.
