400-amp plasma arc metal cutting system introduced

Hypertherm has introduced the HyPerformance® Plasma HPR400XD®, a 400-amp plasma arc metal cutting system.
With patent-pending PowerPierce™, the system can pierce metal that is 60 percent thicker than the capacity of the company's HPR260 system and up to 25 percent thicker than any other high-amperage system capacity available today, according to the manufacturer.
Argon capabilities deliver improved marking, improved thin stainless steel capabilities, increased power supply current accuracy, and an ohmic tab system integrated into the torch body, the company states.
