Automated plasma cutting system offers production piercing, cutting up to 2 in.

Thermal Dynamics®, a Thermadyne® brand, has added the Ultra-Cut® 400 to its line of high-precision automated plasma systems.

The system delivers 400 amps at 200 V at 100 percent duty cycle. It offers production piercing and cutting up to 2 in. on mild steel, stainless steel, and 2.25-in. aluminum. According to the company, new Ultra-Cool™ consumable parts technology delivers long parts life at 400 amps with oxygen/air. The Water Mist Secondary (WMS®) process increases precision when cutting nonferrous materials.

The automated plasma system line has two additional sets of dedicated robotic consumables. These new 15- and 30-amp XTremeLife™ consumables are suitable for use on thin-gauge mild steel.
