Marking machine produces all layout on structural steel section in single pass

July 11, 2011

Peddinghaus Corp. has released the PeddiWriter automatic layout marking machine. The stand-alone machine produces all layout on a structural steel section in a single pass.

Incorporating two independent Hypertherm ArcWriting torches within a four-axis layout marking system, the machine allows marking of all primary surfaces of a profile. As both torches maintain independent X, Y, and Z motions, unique characters and layout marks can be applied to two surfaces of a profile simultaneously.

The unit features state-of-the-art roller probe surface detection, which allocates a proper standoff distance between the material and the plasma torch during a marking program. A powerful drive roller mechanism guides material through the machine, and a precision encoder tracks material travel.
