Plasma cutting technology for mild steel introduced

Kjellberg Finsterwalde has introduced Contour Cut plasma cutting technology for mild steel on its HiFocus plasma cutting systems with PerCut 200/210 and PerCut 440/450 plasma torches.

On small inside and outside contours, small webs, and other fine contours, angular deviation varies between 2 and 4, according to the DIN EN ISO 9013 standard. The difference in angular deviation at the outside points of the contour is marginal, and the cut surface is smooth.

The technology can cut small holes and slotted holes with diameter-to-thickness ratios of 1-to-1. This results in improved cylindricity, repeatability, and dimensional accuracy, the company states.
