Cordless cutter drives 6-in. cutting wheel

Walter Surface Technologies has introduced the Zipwheel cordless cutter, which can drive a 6-in. cutting wheel. The unit is designed for metal workers who are consistently on location without access to a power supply.

Designed for use with the company’s Zip family of cutting wheels, the tool comprises an 18-V/5.2-Ah battery. The ventilated charging station charges the battery while also extending its life by keeping it cool during the charging process.

Dynamax electronics control the RPM and maintain consistent speed under load. Beveled gears reduce noise, and a front retaining plate and rear bushing help prevent misalignment and reduce vibration. The cutter is available in diameters of 4.5/5 and 6 in.
