Drill bits engineered to stay sharp longer

Milwaukee Tool has introduced SHOCKWAVE™ titanium RED HELIX™ Impact Duty™ drill bits and cobalt RED HELIX drill bits. Engineered to stay sharp longer, the bits feature a Variable Helix™ flute geometry for fast material removal, a Chip Breaker™ to decrease heat buildup, and a 135-degree split point to prevent walking.

The drill bit design features a 35-degree helix angle that varies along the flute, ending at 15 degrees. This limits heat buildup by providing rapid chip removal and allows the user to get more life out of the bit, the manufacturer reports.
