Portable magnetic drill offers high power-to-weight ratio

Hougen Mfg. Inc. has released a new model of portable magnetic drill, the HMD905. It maintains a small, lightweight footprint while offering a high power-to-weight ratio.

The drill features a mag drill pilot light. Built into the base of the magnet, the LED allows the operator to line up the pilot with the hole’s center location in low-light or no-light conditions. Other features include a two-speed motor, a two-stage magnet, a new arbor system that uses a 0.625-in. slot drive, an integrated coolant bottle, robust housing, and reversible feed handles.

A D-ring on the back of the magnet allows for quick attachment of the safety chain. Positive slug ejection and a carrying case are included. A swivel-base magnet also is available.
