Titanium nitride-coated step drill offers reduced friction

July 27, 2006

Titanium nitride-coated step drills from M.K. Morse Co. help reduce friction and extend drill life. They have three flats ground on the shank, preventing the drill from slipping in the drill chuck.

The balanced double flute provides two cutting edges for fast cutting in almost any soft or hard metal. Drills are available with - and 3/8-in shanks.

The company also offers high-speed steel, double-fluted step drills that allow for drilling multiple-size holes using the same bit, resulting in decreased changeover time. The drills, available individually or in kits, are designed to cut clean holes without denting or deflecting thin metal.
