Ultrathin cutting wheel's raised hub allows large cutting surface

Walter Surface Technologies has launched the new Zip One Type 27 extra-thin cutoff wheel for cutting thin-gauge metal. It features a raised center for extra rigidity, durability, and thinness. The design of the center hub allows for a large cutting surface while enabling straight, sharp, precise, high-speed cuts for flush cutting applications, the company reports.

The specially reinforced, bonded wheel has a proprietary mix of abrasives that deliver thin, straight cuts while resisting bending. The raised center helps ensure true, straight cuts with minimal friction and no vibration.

Manufactured with an iron-free mix, the wheel cuts cool and burr-free without contaminating stainless steel or discoloring the workpiece, reducing postcut finishing.
