Large-bed custom hydraulic compression molding press delivered

Greenerd Press and Machine Co. Inc. recently delivered a large-bed hydraulic compression molding press to a manufacturer of automotive components in the Southeast.

Greenerd custom-designed and built the press, which features a 150- by 64-in. front-to-back bed with a daylight of 54 in., a stroke of 36 in., and ram locks.

The machine has an Allen-Bradley® PanelView™ Plus 600 touchscreen control that includes recipe storage, trending, diagnostics, and Ethernet, providing the ability to use a range of dies. Multiple parts can be run simultaneously on the system. It is also equipped with a remote power unit with quick-disconnect hydraulic and electrical connections that simplify the system's setup and allow it to relocate when necessary. It is guarded with both horizontal and vertical light curtains for safety.
