Real-time monitoring network available for press users

Greenerd Press & Machine Co. Inc. offers its pressport private online network for users of the company's presses that allows them to obtain real-time status of their press operations.

Users log in and view data from their presses via an Ethernet connection over a secure virtual personal network (VPN). The technology allows manufacturers to respond immediately to any problems with the manufacturing process.

An alarm management feature sends instant text messages/e-mail notifications to mobile phones, PDAs, and computers if an operation occurs outside PLC variables. Notifications may include cycle and batch completions and clogged filters. A hot button allows operators to send an alert into a Greenerd engineer for 24/7 assistance.
