Straight-side presses introduced

AIDA-America has developed the NST tie-rod straight-side press and the unitized frame straight-side NSU.

The NST provides an option to select long or short strokes for transfer or progressive-die operations and is compatible with third-party transfer mechanisms. The preloaded roller slide guiding helps improve die life and part quality, the company says. The rigid, tie-rod frame helps reduce deflection under load. It is available in 300 to 1,200 tons.The NSU's one-piece frame helps reduce elongation under load for less deflection and improved die life. It is available in 200 to 400 tons.

Both the NST and NSU have the company's hydraulic overload protection. The company says the ball and socket arrangement doubles the surface under load compared with a wristpin configuration.
