Cordless magnetic drills adhere to 0.25-in. steel

Milwaukee Tool has introduced the M18 FUEL™ 1.5-in. magnetic drill and 1.5-in. Lineman magnetic drill. The cordless drills deliver a strong magnetic hold on 0.25-in. steel and can drill up to 40 0.8125-in. holes per charge.

The tools use permanent magnets, so the magnetic base operates without electricity, ensuring that the magnet does not deactivate if the battery is drained. Power to the motor is cut automatically if excess rotational motion is detected during drilling.

Each drill is equipped with a 0.75-in. Weldon quick-change chuck and a 0.75-in. Weldon to 0.5-in. chuck adapter. The height of the motor head can be adjusted without tools.
