Depth-of-cut sizes added to drill line

Walter has introduced several new depth-of-cut sizes for its DC170 drill for steel and cast iron. In addition to the currently available drill lengths of 16xD and 20xD, users now can choose 3xD, 5xD, 8xD, and 12xD. Custom-made versions also are available.

The drills feature a land design that orients the margins radially and with a copper-color finish (DPP coating). With the shallow cooling grooves at the drill end, coolant flow encompasses the entire drill point, cooling both the drill and workpiece. The drill’s design also adds more material behind the cutting edge to increase sturdiness.
