LED pilot light added to magnetic drill

Hougen Mfg. Inc. has released the redesigned HMD904 portable magnetic drill. The newest feature is an LED pilot light, built into the base of the magnet. It allows the operator to line up the pilot with the hole’s center location in low- or no-light conditions.

The drill’s motor features a newly designed aluminum casing. A two-stage magnet has been added to increase magnetic holding power by 30 percent when the drill motor is turned on. A new arbor system uses a 0.625-in. slot drive for rigidity, hole accuracy, and quick use of accessories such as drill chucks and tapping attachments, the company states.

The drill weighs 28.9 lbs., measures 19.625 by 7.75 x 11.625 in., and provides drilling capacities from 0.4375 to 1.5 in. dia. and a 2-in. depth of cut.
