Lightweight hearing protection rated at 31 decibels
- September 16, 2008

- Safety
SensGard® SG31 combines a noise-reduction rating of 31 decibels with a lightweight design. The hearing protection is suitable for use in extreme-noise environments, including manufacturing plants, construction sites, airfields, and power and utility plants.
The equipment, which weighs less than 2 oz., incorporates patented ZEM technology that uses the mechanical energy of sound waves instead of electronics to minimize sound before it reaches the ears. It is designed to provide consistent protection without distortion across all frequencies. The wearer is fully protected from harmful noise but can still discern speech and other important ambient sounds, the manufacturer states. Glasses and safety goggles do not compromise fit or performance.
The protective equipment requires no batteries and is designed to adjust to the wearer's head size. When not in use, it folds up to store in a pocket or drawer. Available in black or loden green, it is supplied with two pairs of replacement cuffs and a carrying case.
The SG26 style has a noise-reduction rating of 26 decibels and is available in gray, red, blue, and orange.
