Milling machine shield protects operators from flying chips, sparks - TheFabricator.com

Rockford Systems Inc. offers chip shields for Bridgeport milling machines. The shields place a barrier between flying chips, sparks, and machine coolant and the operators or other employees in the area. They can be moved in or out of position quickly for tool and part changes.

The shields are made of high-impact-resistant, transparent polycarbonate material. Neoprene material at the bottom of each shield section keeps flying chips and swarf contained as the bed moves up and down.

The shields attach directly to existing head machine bolts, so no additional drilling or tapping is required. Both front and rear shields are available.
