PAPR system added to ADF welding helmet

The e3000 PAPR system from Optrel Inc. now is available with its e684 welding helmet with autodarkening filter (ADF).

The helmet features Adaptive Shade Autopilot technology, which automatically adjusts the ADF to the appropriate shade level between 5 and 13 during welding. As the intensity of the arc changes, so does the shade level—hands-free and in high-definition viewing.

The PAPR offers two-channel air distribution inside the helmet for a high level of comfort, as well as a HEPA filter design that protects against exposures to smoke, dust, and other particulates. It is the only NIOSH-approved PAPR/helmet system with an automatic airflow check at start-up, states the company.
