Safety controller has enhanced functions, flexibility

SICK Inc. has introduced its UE 100 series safety controllers, which include the UE 440 and 470.

The UE 440 is a configurable safety controller for comprehensive implementation of safety applications such as safeguarding multiple robot cells at the same time. The UE 470 is designed specifically for the safety requirements of press brake applications.

The two models offer 15 single-channel inputs; up to seven can be configured as two-channel inputs. Two safe connections (Cat. 4, SIL 3) for electrosensitive protective equipment can support configuration and diagnostics. Eight outputs—two are safe output pairs—allow individual control of downstream plant components.
