Safety light curtains cut installation, setup time

Orion safety light curtains from ABB Jokab Safety Products offer a simplified selection of functions and settings to help cut installation and setup time.

The light curtains are available in three models, each with a different light curtain or light grid configuration. Orion 1 offers finger and hand detection; Orion 2 comes in two-, three-, or four-beam styles; and Orion 3 offers a transceiver light grid to help reduce wiring.

All models are available in base and extended styles. The base style offers AOPD object detection and a local reset button connected directly to the light curtain, which eliminates the need for a cable connection to the electrical cabinet or an extra control module. In addition to those features, the extended style also offers a muting feature that enables material, including pallets, to pass through the curtain without stopping the machine, while still preventing personnel from entering the hazardous area.

Available accessories include mounting columns, mounting brackets, deviating mirrors, and wash-down tubes with IP69K ratings.
