Wheeled, extendable light tower for use in hazardous locations introduced

Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com has announced the production of a new line of light towers for use in hazardous locations.

The HAL-2X400MCE extendable light tower incorporates a tilting-base design that allows operators to extend the unit to its full height with reduced effort. Two 400-W metal halide lamps provide 50,000 sq. ft. of coverage, and the wheeled tower base allows users to move the fixture around the workplace.

The light tower can be extended to 8 ft. and collapsed to 5 ft. for transport. The 39- by 35-in. wheeled base provides stability when the tower is deployed to its full height while still allowing the user to roll the unit into the desired position.

The unit's two metal halide lamps include multitap ballasts that allow the unit to be configured for use with current from 110 to 277 VAC using jumpers. The lamps are encased in powder-coated assemblies with tempered glass lenses for durability, and the aluminum tripod system is constructed of nonsparking, powder-coated aluminum.
