Overlay welding strip intended to reduce production time
Sandvik says its new welding strip, Sandvik 24.29.5.LCu, reduces production time by half in overlay welding applications.
The material allows users to attain the required grade for 904L overlay in a single weld using a standard flux, the company reports. Designed for use with corrosion-resistant, high-alloy austenitic stainless steels and nickel alloys, the strip provides an overlay resistant to corrosion from seawater and phosphoric and sulfuric acid. It is available in coils 30 mm, 60 mm, and 90 mm wide by 0.5 mm thick.
Applications include oil and gas, tube and pipe, heat exchangers, chemical plant, and vessel repair.
