Automatic feed clamp system simplifies pipe cutting

May 8, 2007

A portable pipe clamp system with automatic feed is available from CS Unitec for use with the company's portable pneumatic hacksaw.

The system easily attaches to the hacksaw and pipe and operates off the same 90 PSI air supply as the saw. The self-feeding device eliminates manual cutting and is suitable for pipe maintenance and demolition.

The 1.5 HP pneumatic hacksaw has a stroke of 2 3/8 in. and up to 350 strokes per minute. It cuts pipe from 4 in. to 30 in. in diameter in one pass. The saw is particularly suited to demanding offshore oil and gas, refinery, chemical plant, pipeline, utility, and construction applications.

The complete system weighs43 lbs. High-speed saw blades are available up to 37 in. long. Hacksaw blades containing molybdenum alloy are available to cut stainless steel and super-alloy pipe.
