Friction saw blade based on CrV tool steel

SW Wil Werkzeug- und Maschinenhandel AG has developed the SwissCut HR® friction saw blade.

Based on a chrome-vanadium (CrV) tool steel and featuring a thermochemical treatment, the patented blade has a material structure that exhibits up to 300 percent higher cutting tool life compared to standard friction saw blades made of 1.2235 CrV steel, reduced crack formation in the blades depending on the ductile material structure caused by residual stresses, increased cutting quality, and reduced downtime of the tube welding line, states the manufacturer.

The blades are offered in sizes from 13.78 to 70.87 in.
