Large-capacity band saw combines mitering capability, automatic bar feed system

Scotchman® Industries has introduced the SHA 2131 band saw, with a capacity of 21 by 31 in. at 90 degrees and 21 by 14 in. at 60 degrees.

The automatic saw combines mitering capability with an automatic bar feed system. The bar feed uses an automatic shuttle-vise feed system that handles up to 60 in. in a single stroke.

The saw comes with a touchscreen workstation with standard PLC, which allows the operator to program the job, including both piece length and piece count. The PLC takes into consideration the multiple indexes and blade kerf to help simplify length setting. The full-stroke vising and optional bundling attachments can bundle up to the full capacity.
