Vacuum system for carbide circular saws introduced

July 20, 2009

Marvel Mfg. Co., Oshkosh, Wis., has introduced a vacuum system for use with carbide circular saws used in cutting tubing.

The vacuum removes the hardened chips from the center of the tube, preventing damage to the carbide or cermet teeth and improving blade life.

The vacuum head positioning arm interfaces with the saw control, which allows the head to move into a preset position during the cut and then pivot out of the way to allow the cut piece to exit the saw. The patented approach to chip removal makes it possible to cut a wide range of tubing and related products with high-speed carbide technology.
