Dual-slide transfer press has 800-ton closing force

Schuler Hydrap has developed a hydraulic dual-slide transfer press with a closing force of 800 tons used to manufacture dishwasher inner doors and rear walls.

The system has two individually controllable slides, meaning that the closing force can be tailored exactly to specifications. The first side carries out drawing operations with closing forces of 600 tons. It also can be equipped with a second die for embossing operations.

To handle off-center loads, the slide is equipped with a parallelism control system via two main cylinders. A slide cushion integrated into the first slide is used for forming the inner doors. A second slide with a closing force of 200 tons is used for the edge beading and finishing of housing parts.
