Turnkey systems produce spirally welded, longitudinally welded large pipe

Schuler offers turnkey systems for large-pipe production, designed to meet demand in natural resource extraction applications. Systems for producing spirally welded and longitudinally welded pipes are available.

For the production of spirally welded large pipes, both online and offline processes are offered. The online process combines the forming and welding stages in one machine. With this process, pipes are formed and then directly put through the SAW process from inside and outside. The offline process separates the forming and welding stages. The SAW process begins from the inside and outside on separate welding stands after pipe forming and tack welding are completed.

Spirally welded pipes can be manufactured up to 78.74 ft. long, with diameters from 18 to 140 in. and wall thicknesses up to 1 in.

For the production of longitudinally welded large pipes, the company offers systems using its hydraulic press technology for forming in individual presses or full press plants. Its systems employ the UOE process, which uses crimping presses, U presses, and O presses. The hydraulic large-pipe presses can produce pipe up to 59.06 ft. long, with diameters up to 64 in. and wall thicknesses up to 2.5 in.
