Flying shear with slitter maintains +/-0.0625-in. length tolerance at any speed

The Bradbury Co. Inc. has shipped a B.O.S.S.™ flying shear with slitter. The shear, which runs up to 250 FPM, can produce five slits of 0.048-in. prepainted steel, 0.050-in. aluminum, and 0.037-in. stainless steel. It has servo acceleration and closed-loop controls for +/-0.0625-in. length tolerance at any speed.

A hand wheel with a digital counter is used to engage and disengage the slitter. The swing-away lead-in table allows for direct access, positioning, and adjustment of slitter knives.
