Heavy-duty shear's blades require no sharpening, adjusting

The Ku6870, a 12-ga. shear from Metabo Corp., performs burr-free cutting, shearing, and trimming of sheet metal.

The shear converts from a portable to a stationary tool when mounted upside down on a tool bench. In addition, the shear's heavy-duty cutting head and drop-forged base help to ensure accurate cutting. Its blades have four cutting edges that do not require sharpening or adjustment. The unit can be operated with one hand, and the tool rest on the top of the machine can be a bench mount when the machine is used as a stationary device. A lock-on switch provides additional control.

The 5.2-amp shear has a maximum torque of 53 in.-lbs.; 3,000 no-load SPM; and a capacity of 12 ga. in mild steel and 14 ga. in mild stainless steel. The minimum cutting radius is in. The tool weighs 6 lbs.
