Communication protocol offered with rotary encoder series

Leine & Linde, available in North America through Heidenhain Corp., offers the use of Siemens Drive-CLiQ communication protocol in its inductive 600 absolute rotary encoder series.

The Ethernet-based protocol interfaces with Sinamics control systems. It has a speed of 100 Mbit/s and a cycle time of 31.25 μs for demanding applications. Motion control system components with the protocol are configured automatically with each other, since every component has an electronic label.

The model IHA 608 encoder with the protocol has a single-turn resolution of 19 bits, with mechanical gear-based multiturn resolution of 12 bits. Available with a synchro flange or a clamping flange, it comes in an anodized aluminum housing with protection up to IP67.
