Cost estimation module helps machine shops respond quickly to RFQs

Geometric has released CAMWorks Costing, an add-on module to its existing CNC programming software, CAMWorks. The module helps speed up the estimation process and generates accurate quotes within minutes, the manufacturer states.

The module automatically recognizes features in a job such as fillets, drafts, undercuts, or odd angled holes. The cost of each feature is calculated using a database of materials, work centers, processes, and manufacturing time standards.
