Degaussing system demagnetizes ferromagnetic materials for welding

EWM has introduced the degauss 600 degaussing system to eliminate magnetism in the workpiece so that it cannot have an adverse effect on the welding process. This helps stabilize the arc and ensure reproducible welding results.

The two core components of the system are the degaussing power source and a load cable. The load cable is wound around the component on the section containing the point to be welded. The more turns there are, the more effective the degaussing process is. Degaussing is automatic and takes a little more than a minute. An optional magnetic field meter measures the strength of the magnetic field in the workpiece.
