Energy-saving powertrain parts cleaner requires no compressed air

Dürr Ecoclean offers the EcoCVac, a dry cleaning system for powertrain components that does not use compressed air.

According to the company, the system also provides significant energy savings and requires minimal working chamber maintenance.

Using vacuum suction technology, the equipment removes contaminants from parts and work chambers within 1.5 to 3 seconds of process time.

The nozzle-free system comprises a pressure vessel with a permanent vacuum. It is connected by a pipe to the chamber in which a part is placed. Once the chamber is closed, a powerful airflow entrains the chips and delivers them into the vacuum vessel. An integrated chip clean-out device separates chips and emulsion and allows them to be discharged separately via a collecting bin and a flume, respectively.

Removing the chips from both the part and the work chamber reduces the risk of recontamination and also reduces the chamber cleaning requirements.
