Laser alignment tool operates over 100 ft.

Pinpoint Laser Systems® has introduced the 2-D Microgage laser alignment tool for precision measuring, machine alignment, and calibration. Operators can check and align roll and web lines, CNC cutting and milling equipment, lathes, stamping presses, injection molding machines, extrusion systems, and other production equipment to improve operating efficiency and reduce downtime, the company reports.
The alignment tool is compact and can be set up and used on the shop floor. Combining a compact laser transmitter with a receiver and digital display, the tool operates over a distance of 100 ft. with a bright red beam that is adaptable to many industrial applications. As the laser moves across the receiver in a vertical or horizontal direction, the display provides a reading of the motion, accurate to 0.0001 in. Accessories allow alignment of straightness, runout, parallelism, squareness, bore alignment, shaft alignment, and flatness measuring. A serial and USB interface connect to a laptop or PC and link to spreadsheets for plotting and analyzing data for maintenance records, customer compliance, and other uses.
The tool operates on batteries, and all components are machined from solid aluminum with a hard anodized coating for wear resistance. It includes a sealed, push-button keypad; a large LCD; and a compact carrying case for component storage.
