Laser made for annealing, ablating on metals

RMI Laser LLC has released the A-10 laser marking system. Available in 10- and 20-W versions, the diode-pumped, solid-state, Nd:YVO4, 1,064-nm marking system has a specifically tuned beam that enables the uniform distribution of energy required for annealing and ablating.

The machine can create dark-colored marks on metals like steel and titanium without etching into the surface. Its deep focal depth enables annealing on surfaces that change as much as 0.39 in., which makes the machine suitable for marking curved surfaces.
