Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI) has released FormingSuite 2015 for sheet metal forming and costing engineers, designers, and estimators in the automotive, aerospace, consumer product, and electrical/electronic industries.
The software introduces new technologies to stamping simulation and offers new functionality in viewing, rendering, sectioning, measuring, and displaying components. A new setup workbench for incremental analysis speeds up the setup process, and functionality has been added to enhance performance in springback compensation.
Nesting solvers have been updated to provide additional refinement with enhanced speed and accuracy, the company states. Progressive nesting tools now support two blank layouts, options to flip S-webs, and the options to simulate and visualize web deformation and feasibility based on part forming displacements.
Process planning features include enhancements to the workflow such as splitting the workbenches for progressive die plan and line die plan.
