Seaming device secures stretch-wrap film tails

Muller has introduced the No Touch No Tail (NT²) seaming device for securing stretch-wrap film tails. It eliminates the film tail without contacting the load. The technology is available on new Octopus ring wrapping equipment, as well as the company’s former models.

The unit eliminates the need to rewrap pallets because of loose tails unraveling the load. It also eliminates the need to affix tails manually.

The machine works by seaming and cutting the film away from the product, making it suitable for rounded products, such as large coils. During the last revolution in the film cycle, a counterplate is placed between the sealing element and the load while a cutting element cuts the film. When released, the film automatically retracts back to the load to ensure load containment.
